Our Story

In 2005, John Masserano founded Masserano Real Estate and Consulting LLC (MREC) in New Orleans, Louisiana, drawing inspiration from providing specialized services to doctors similar to the Masserano-led real estate and construction department of Orthodontic Centers of America, Inc. that served around 500 doctors with approximately 1,000 practice locations. MREC quickly expanded post-Hurricane Katrina to Houston and Austin, TX.

The explosive growth in Texas was accompanied by significant remote operations in the Northeast to assist startup clients initially in the New York, New Jersey and Connecticut markets, prompting the 2012 relocation of MREC's headquarters to Nyack, NY. Further expansion brought the company to Fort Lee, NJ, at the heart of the Tristate area, but from where services are provided across the country.

In 2021, John Masserano partnered with longtime associate Joe Lombardi to establish Align Healthcare Real Estate (AHRE) in Red Bank, NJ, consolidating licensed real estate activities offered in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut and Pennsylvania. To streamline services and distinguish from the specific real estate agency work of AHRE, MREC rebranded as Masserano Practice Design and Development (MPDD).

Simultaneously, Masserano and Lombardi launched Align Healthcare Practices, a thriving venture focused on practice sales. Recognizing clients' residential needs, Align Residential Real Estate was inaugurated in the beginning of 2024.
